The Invisible Journey of Progress
Many times we misunderstand what progress is, and often associate it with visible victories or concrete outputs. But while the irony of being an action down seemed more blatant and immediate, what needs to be considered is that progress or change has never revolved around such things. It’s constantly in the mix swirling beneath our surface, pushing us forward when we aren’t even sure of its impact.
An example : imagine a seed planted deep in the mud It looks dead, obscured in shadow. The tree begins to grow its roots, extracting nutrients from the earth and readying itself to burst forth beyond the walls holding it back. This parallel can be related to many other parts of our lives whether personal, professional or emotional. Certainly, the triumphs that come to matter most evolve through some quiet process almost always out of public view and oftentimes underappreciated as they first emerge.
We might be doubting & confused such areas in our personal growth. We might feel like were going nowhere really fast. However, the mere fact we step by learning or being introspective better to say overcoming challenges is already our development. These incremental actions begin to manifest themselves over time as substantial shifts.
It goes for Professional Growth too. A career is part built off of sheer stubbornness, the refusal to give up and some resistance (and a LOT more learning). We may not find fame and fortune right off the bat, but we build skills as people that prepare us for our next opportunity. These experiences add up, each category challenging us and teaching to the next level of how we are supposed co-create our future.
Similarly, societal advancement is much the same thing. Social change movements can often take years for us to see tangible results. It might look like their working in vain, but it sparks for tomorrow.
So in the very end, progress is not always seen but yes it does exist. Once we realize it, then a sense of patience should arise as well because there is definitely no doubt in the fact that fruits will not come overnight or within weeks from days spent writing. We need to honor the unseen process of how change happens,and live that out.
