The Unseen Strength: Triumphs in Silence
Strength in our society is usually evident through some type of visible accomplishment: the athlete who takes out records, or maybe the leader that possesses a room (or possibly rules an empire), and even potentially you can be typically described by your profession, physical fitness level, musical skills. None the less, true strength typically happens outside of public view — in these face-offs that anonymous struggles which are indispensable for gaining resilience and further growth.
It is those who experience unseen struggles that are the most resilient. They can be the silent ones — mental health challenges, personal loss, financial woes or just getting out of bed when self-doubt would prefer that room seems now your only way forward. People may look like they have it all together with what seems to be an effortless stride through life, but in certain ways, at some point or another of their own chapters behind the scenes — a completely different battle was going on.
Imagine the single parent without any support system who works, does laundry , cooks and raises children alone. Sure, they might be commended for toughing it out but what people probably dont realize is all the worry that keeps them up at night and how many times a day they feel like throwing in the towel. And just as many stories tell of those who have had to fight against disease or mental illness itself, in an world that too frequently lacks compassion and understanding. It is that they do not experience pain, but rather on their willingness to challenge life in face of adversities and regardless if thanks are given.
Also, I feel like a lot of people find them to be pretty inspiring. Sharing an experience could be a journey to healing and can connect with others who are alike survivors. Together, we can create a community of compassion and help reinforce that shared road.
In the end, admitting to these covert struggles teaches us how powerful it is when we are vulnerable with each other and why extending kindness still has a place just as strong. Part of our own journey is understanding that everyone we meet could be in the battle, and it has nothing to do with us. Through we can create a more supportive society for each other.
Focusing so much on tangible accomplishments, let us never underestimate the pain that goes unnoticed and cower at those who win without showing their bloodied fists.
